Please allow me to introduce you to Mr. Cory Bivens one of the owners of Life of Pie who happens to also be our Head Pieologist.
It’s often strange how our life will start one way and then goes in a new and exciting direction; which is exactly what happen when Cory created the “Honey Habanero” and won the Cisco Pie Fest in 2017 and from there “Lie of Pie” was born and as they say the rest is history.
We all need that time when we need to come up for air and breathe and Cory gets his breath of fresh air when he kicks back smoking a good cigar while binge watching some of his favorite shows which happen to be CSI: Miami, Family Guy or Bobs Burgers
If he’s not relaxing that way you can find him playing his guitar, and for those that don’t know our very own Pieologist used to be a professional country singer & songwriter who has 2 CD’s, he’s been on the radio all over the US and in France & Romania. And By the way, I’ve heard him sing, he has a very nice voice.
But just like some of us that need that extra “umph” in life, when he has the time he loves to race cars; and he currently rebuilding a 1978 El Camino with his father Lynn in memory of his uncle Neal.
As the head pieologist I would have thought he had many favorite pies, but he told me that his favorite was the Chocolate Truffle
He is also a lover of animals and is the proud owner with his beautiful wife Leslie 2 dogs and some “stray” cats
As Cory continues to go forward with what seems like there’s no stopping or slowing down, I asked him what his plans were after “Life of Pie” his words were…. “World Pie Domination.” Then he replied with just kidding, I’ll be doing Life of Pie until I retire. I think we the customers are happy to hear that.
If you have ever had the opportunity to talk with Cory for any length of time you will come to know that he has such a gentle and caring heart. It’s easy to see why he says that the best part of Life of Pie is the pie family which includes the customers and employees plus the community of Abilene
And it would definitely be a shame not too let it be known that he wears his love of the Lord proudly with one of his favorite scriptures being James 1: 12 which says: Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the LORD has promised to those who love Him.
